Pathways to Hope Africa (PTHA) was founded by a collaborative effort of both, African and American individuals as well as organizations, to address the needs of rural and impoverished villages in rural Uganda and Among the pygmies in Democratic Republic Congo, creating self-sufficiency and a better way of life through training, education, and employment. We identify rural communities with existing networks and infrastructures to best support Pathways’ position as a partner in community development efforts, establishing a higher standard of living through food resources, housing, healthcare, personal security, and education. Partnering with existing infrastructure in rural communities (farmer’s association, churches, schools, cooperatives etc.), community-based organizations, and other strategic civic groups, PTHA is ensuring poverty reduction and ultimately systemic change through a holistic and integrated approach.
